The fastest way to narrow the INFICON range is to start from what you need the test to tell you, rather than from a model number. Calibration, Service and Support

An INFICON instrument is only as trustworthy as its last calibration. We calibrate on site or at our Bedford laboratory with traceable certification — see calibration — and provide breakdown response, planned maintenance and spares through our service team. If you would rather not own the instrument at all, rental and leasing and our helium leak testing service are both options.

Which INFICON detector do I need?

It depends on your gas, sensitivity and throughput. Handheld IR tools (D-Tek Stratus) suit field service; sniffers (HLD6000) suit workstations; mass spectrometers (Ecotec 4000, LDS3000, UL1000) suit high-volume and high-sensitivity production. Our team will advise on the best fit.

What is the difference between a vacuum and a sniffer leak detector?

A vacuum method evacuates the part or places it in a chamber and measures tracer gas drawn through any leak. It is quantitative — it gives you a leak rate. A sniffer pressurises the part and the operator passes a probe over the outside to locate the leak. It is qualitative — it tells you where. Many programmes use both: quantify first, then locate.
