FAQs

We have compiled answers to the most frequent technical and commercial enquiries regarding our bespoke systems, rental fleet, and calibration services. If your specific requirement is not covered below, our engineering team is available to provide a detailed consultation

Engineered Systems

We specialise in air pressure decay, differential pressure, and hard-vacuum helium tracer gas systems. Our engineering team will select and integrate the optimal method based on your specific leak rate requirements and component geometry.
Yes. Our bespoke systems can be fully automated with PLC integration, robotic handling, safety guarding, and data logging to fit seamlessly into your existing production environment.
Lead times vary depending on the complexity of the system. However, we provide a detailed project schedule at the quotation stage, covering design, manufacturing, and final commissioning to ensure we meet your production deadlines.
Our systems are Industry 4.0 ready. We can configure the machine to export results to your SQL database, generate local CSV logs, or print pass/fail labels for full component traceability.
Lead times vary by complexity, typically ranging from 8 to 16 weeks. We provide a detailed Gantt chart at the design stage covering procurement, build, and commissioning
Yes. All our machinery is fully risk-assessed and compliant with current UKCA and CE safety standards, including appropriate guarding (light curtains, two-hand start).

Rental & Leasing

We offer flexible rental terms starting from just one week. This is ideal for troubleshooting specific production issues, process validation, or covering short-term equipment breakdowns.
No. Rentals start from one week, so there is no requirement to commit to a long term. Where a longer period suits you better, leasing is available and we can quote both so you can compare cost over the period you actually need.
We support rental equipment for the duration of the hire. If an instrument develops a fault we will repair or replace it so your testing is not held up — see service.
Yes, and many customers do. Renting lets you validate a method or cover a short-term contract before committing capital, and what you learn feeds directly into the purchase specification. See rental and leasing.
Rental instruments are supplied calibrated, with traceable certification. If your quality system requires calibration within a particular window, tell us when you book and we will schedule around it.
Yes. We can deliver operator training on site or at our Bedford facility so the instrument is used correctly and the results are defensible from day one.

Service & Calibration

Yes. We calibrate any manufacturer's pressure decay instrument, along with reference leaks and tracer gas detectors, either on site or at our Bedford laboratory. See calibration.
Every calibration is issued with a certificate stating the measured leak rate with units and uncertainty, the reference temperature and gas species, the calibration and recalibration dates, and the traceability statement.
We offer rapid on-site attendance for critical failures, remote diagnostics where appropriate, and structured service agreements with priority response times and discounted labour. See service.
Annually is typical, but the right interval depends on your quality system, duty cycle and the consequence of a false pass. We are happy to advise and to schedule recalibration so it never lapses.
Accredited means the work was performed by a UKAS-accredited laboratory within its accredited scope. Traceable means the equipment used traces back to national standards. Supplying one where the other is specified is a non-conformance — see UKAS traceable leak standards.
Yes, including capillary and canister-style leaks for helium and hydrogen, and reference leaks for vacuum applications. Calibration follows ISO 20486.
